Jason and I went to see the movie, Fireproof yesterday afternoon. It was GREAT and I encourage everyone, married or not, to go see this movie. I believe the movie will be playing in Ruston until this Thursday and I’m not sure how long it will be in West Monroe. To find out more about the movie, go to www.fireproofthemovie.com

The FLC will be open from 10am until ??? on Friday, 10/3 for anyone who wants to come help sort, hang, fold and set up items for the Giveaway the following day. Dr. Hawley stated that some senior adults want to help and would prefer to work during the day. He is going to announce this in church tonight for anyone who is interested in helping.

Mark your calendar for an Adult Game Night on 10/25 from 5p-8p at the FLC. We will order pizza and play board games, card games or just visit. If you have any games you would like to bring, let me know. We want to make sure we have enough games and at the same time, no duplicates. We will have a nursery that night as well. I will have a sign up sheet in SS in the next week or so.

We will have a childcare in the preschool building on Saturday from 7a-11a for anyone who will be helping out with “The Great Giveaway”. Please post a comment or email me at thehoggs99@yahoo.com by 5pm Wednesday, 10/1 if you will be needing childcare. Donuts, milk and juice will be provided for the kids as they arrive. Please bring a sack lunch for your children should you wish for them to eat lunch before they are picked up at 11am. Like last year, the nursery workers will have crafts/activities, games, movies, etc for PreK and older.

Good Morning:
I know that most of ya’ll are in Sunday School class at the moment. However, I wanted to send out a prayer requests for several people in our church family that are ill.
Mike and Carrie Foster - stomach bug
Madison Webb - stomach bug
Marie Roberts - trying to pass a kidney stone
Olivia Taylor - She and Madison were supposed to sing a duet. She will now have to do a solo. When I left the church this morning, she stated that she was not singing. Please pray that she does sing their part and that she brings glory to the Lord in doing so.
Don’t forget to pray for the upcoming 3rd Annual Great Giveaway - we will be working at the Family Life Center each night this week. We need EVERYONE to help.

Hola!
I hope everyone is having an awesome Thursday. Please remember that we will have a workday this Saturday, September 27th from 2:00 - 4:00 p. m. We will be receiving some bags of clothes from Rolling Hills and would like to have all hands on deck to get them sorted. It is amazing what we can accomplish when we all work together!

My friend Tori’s little boy Taylor is in the hospital at St Francis North. He is 7 & has an infection in his left hip. A needle aspiration was done yesterday but they will not get the results for 72 hours. We all know how hard it is to just sit & wait & not able to do anything. She also has another boy who is 11. They live in Winnsboro. I’m sure it’s tough getting him back & forth to school & driving to Monroe to be with a sick child.

Hello:
I would like to ask that you all pray for my student worker, Rachel. She has been feeling very tiresome this summer and would get really short of breathe when she would walk. She was enrolled in a weightlifting class this quarter. As part of the class, they were required to take their vitals each class period. Her instructor noticed that her pulse rate was way above normal over a period of classes. He suggested that she go to the doctor for a check up. The doctor ran some test and thinks it is her thyroid. She had to take a test where she swallowed a pill and then did a CAT scan. That test was inconclusive. So, her doctor ordered more blood work today. Those results should be back in two days. However, the doctor told her the ways that he planned to regulate her thyroid. The first way is by taking a pill. This pill would not allow her to have children to due to the ingredients in the pill. The other alternative would be to have surgery. The surgery would leave a scare across the front of her neck!!!!
Please pray that everything will work out for Rachel. She is 17 years old and graduated from high school when she was junior! She had enough college credit that she didn’t have to attend her senior year. She is a very bright and personable young lady.
Thanks.

I just spoke to Allison and she is home from the hospital. Her mother is with her and will be until Oct 8th. Allison’s c-section is scheduled for Oct 2nd - she has to be at St. Francis at 6:30am and in the OR shortly after 7:30am. Please continue to keep the Brister’s in your prayers. If you would like to sign up to take a meal in the next week or so please let me know. I’ll have a sign up sheet in SS this Sunday for meals once Allison and the new baby are home from the hospital. Remember to bring diapers - a collection box is located in our SS classroom.
