Good morning all,
We just received an email from some good friends of ours, John and Ramona Ogden, that his father passed away early Sunday morning. John’s dad, and the entire family, have struggled with Alzheimer’s for a while now and it has been really rough on the family. So, as sad as his passing is, it is also somewhat of a relief to not see John’s dad suffer through that anymore.
On top of that, Mona is scheduled to have surgery tomorrow and will have about a 6 week recovery time, during which John and their two boys will have to take care of her and everything around the house. As far as we know, the surgery will still take place as scheduled tomorrow.
Please remember their family in your prayers this week
Thanks,
James

Hello Everyone:
I just wanted to let you know that I received a Facebook message from Wesley Baker. I was also able to chat with him online tonight. He will be leaving for Colorado in the morning for 6 weeks of flight training. Please keep him in your prayers. His parents will be watching Wade and Madyson until mid July. They will then go to stay with their mother. He wished the EBC guys good luck on their game!!!!
I hope everyone has a blessed week.

I neglected to mention in my “Peach Festival” post that the Youth Group is having a booth at the Peach Festival on Saturday. They will be selling cookbooks and facepainting at Railroad Park. Please show your support for them!

I would like to ask y’all to pray for my grandmother, Archie Holloway. She was admitted to the hospital in Homer last night with a high fever and difficulty breathing. We have some tests results back and she has pnuemonia in her left lung, a UTI and her blood sugar was very high so she had an insulin shot. She has tested negative for diabetes in the past but will be tested again. They are continuing to run various tests to make sure they have found all the infections.

Just wanted to remind everyone know of the Peach Festival Parade this Saturday at 9am. My family will be standing at the Sheriff’s Office just across from First Baptist Church in Ruston. It is a good area to be for kids because you have the parking lot behind you where they can “roam” and also have access to the water fountains and bathrooms at the Sheriff’s Office if needed. We would love to have you join us there to catch candy and watch the parade!
Also, don’t forget the Yucatan Mission Group will be selling Barbeque Chicken plates in the Backus True Value parking lot beginning at 11am I believe the cost is $6 per plate.

Carrie’s Uncle Bo went to Houston for a check-up because he has been having problems with his leg being numb. When they went to the doctor it appeared that he had a blood clot. They gave him some medication and did a procedure to attempt to remove the blood clot. However, the medication nor the procedure worked. He is in the Cath Lab - being injected with dye - to see how severe the blockage is. If it is determined that they can’t correct the blood clot then he will more than likely loose his leg. Carrie and her mom may be traveling to Houston to be with her Uncle Bo. Please pray for their safety as they travel. In addition, please pray for God’s will to be done in this situation.

I just spoke to Courtney and she is doing okay - she is still very sore from her delivery and should be discharged from the hospital tomorrow afternoon. Audrey’s jaundice level is high right now so they have her under the light and said she will most likely have to stay an extra 2-3 days. Courtney will be allowed to stay with Audrey as long as there is a room available. Please continue to pray for Courtney as she heals and also for that Audrey’s jaundice level will taper off and she will be allowed to come home sooner than expected.

I just spoke to Corey Martin this morning and he said Courtney and Audrey are doing well. Courtney is obviously very sore from the c-section and didn’t get much rest last night. Please continue to pray for Courtney as she recovers from surgery. Also, please pray for both Corey and Courtney as they begin their lives as new parents!
